LET US HELP YOU SELL YOUR HORSE!

We have lots of buyers out here each month looking for horses to buy.  We have an arena, round pen, and plenty of trail riding space to let the potential buyer try out our horses.  We are available to show horses during the day, afternoon, or evening, and on weekends, while you may be at work or too busy.  For a small consignment fee, we will bring your horse here and do all the work to get it sold for you.  All you do is wait on your check to arrive in the mail!  If your horse needs a tune-up, we will be glad to do that as well.  We feed twice a day, have a barn with stalls, a lean-to shelter in the pasture, offer free-choice hay & salt blocks, and will take excellent care of the horses while here.  I will have to evaluate your horse first before I bring it to our ranch to make sure it is something I feel comfortable selling to others.  Contact me for more information.

Place an ad on our site

Place an advertisement for your horse on our Other Horses For Sale website for a one time fee of $20.00.  Send an image of your horse along with details about your horse and we will create and list your ad on a page similar to our Horses For Sale page. Send us an e mail containing an image of your horse, your contact information, and details about your horse: name, age, breed, gender, color, height, asking price.  Your ad will remain on our site until your horse is sold.

Let us create a web page advertising your horse

For just $50.00 your horse can have its own web page with up to three images. You can link to this web site on other classified pages.  Send us an e mail including up to three images of your horse, your contact information, asking price, acceptable payment methods, and details about your horse: name, age, breed, gender, color, height, disposition...  Here is a blank sample page with ideas of what details to include.  Your finished page will look very much like this.

Training

Hill Country Horses is now accepting outside horses for training!  People have been begging us for years to help them with their horses but we have only trained or tuned up the horses that came in on consignment for us to sell.  We have finally accepted a few horses and it has worked out well, so we are now adding it as a service we offer.  Here's why:

Have you taken your horse to a trainer and they only ride your horse in a round pen or arena, or just on the property at the stables?  That is what the majority of trainers do, since they have so many horses to ride.  Get one out of the stall, ride it for 30 minutes, put it back in the stall, on to the next horse.  Well, that is great for breaking colts, or putting a handle on one, but the since they are only exposed to an arena enviroment, they can be scared or spooky once taken off property, or going down the trail.  That is where we come in!

Yes, we have a round pen and an arena, but I find spending too much time in there is boring, for me and the horse.  We love to train on the trail, and expose the horses to everything.  We also ride them around our neighborhood, where we will encounter barking dogs, passing traffic, water crossings, kids on bicycles, and much more.  Then, if that isn't enough, we haul them with us to barrel races, riding them in the busy parking lot, and also in different arena's.  We also belong to a Team Penning club, so we can start your horse on cows!

We trail ride frequently, and live 15 minutes from Parrie Haynes Ranch where there are 5000 acres of trails.  When training on the trail, I will make sure your horse will be confident enough to ride out alone, or with a group of horses.  In the group, they will ride in all positions....in front, the middle, or at the back.  Some horses feel they HAVE to be in the lead.  I can fix that!  Does your horse get antsy and impatient if the other horses get too far in front of him?  Does he want to buck, rear, or prance?  Does your horse pin his ears and kick out at other horses on the trail? Don't put a red ribbon on his tail!  Fix the problem!

Ok, so your horse needs a tune up, needs to be de-sensitized, needs to be hauled and exposed......what do we charge?

$500 a month  (you pay for feed, hay, and any extra expenses your horse incurs while here, like feet trimmed, etc)
